Samos and the East Aegean Islands in general are connected to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Samos you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands
of Syros, Tinos, Mykonos, Andros etc.

In addition, there are ferry connection from Samos
ferry to the island of Rhodes, and basically all East Aegean and Dodecanese Islands via a third island.

Your trip to Samos can be with a conventional ferry
boat or by Highspeed depending on the day, the
time and the ferry company you wish to travel with.

If you select to visit Samos with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 7-9.30 hours while
with a Highspeed ferry 5.30-6.30 hours depending
on how many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

on a daily basis. In summer of course there are

Pythagorean Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Pythagorio is housed in the ground floor of a municipal building that dates back to the first 20 years of 21st century. The museum includes a collection of archaic columns, a collection of Roman emperor portraits and a grave collection. The most important exhibits are:

The marble seated statue of Aiaki. On a sign it is reported that the statue was dedicated to Ira by Aiaki, father of Polykratis, from the piracy profits he had earned. It was found in the Pythagorean round 540 B.C.

The big monumental sarcophagus made of marble in the type of temple-like building constructed in the second half of 6th century B.C.

Small sepulchral column with the sign: “DIAGORO THE GDILO”. 530 B.C.

A marble sepulchral column was found at Chora, in 500/490 of B.C.

The marble statue of emperor Traianos, of supernatural size with height 2.71 m. The marble portrait of August, at the height of 0, 49 m. The marble portrait of Klaudius, at the height of 0, 53 m.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

From today, August 13, 2020 a new decree by the Italian Minister of Health has come into force providing the following alternative measures which apply to people entering Italy after staying in, or transiting from Croatia, Malta, Greece or Spain in the last 14 days:

a. Obligation to present a certificate showing a negative result of a swab, done within the 72 hours prior to entry in Italy.

or

b. Obligation to undergo a molecular or antigen test carried out through a swab upon arrival at the Italian airport, port or border place, where possible; or carried out, within 48 hours from entering the Italian territory, at the competent Italian National Public Health clinic. In this latter case, while waiting for the examination test, people are due to wait in fiduciary isolation at their place of residence or dwelling.

All people, regardless of symptoms, entering Italy from the above mentioned countries are due to immediately inform the Prevention Department of the competent Italian National Health office about their arrival. In the event of outbreaks of symptoms of Covid 19, the obligation of immediate information to Italian Health Authority (through the relevant phone number) as well as of self-isolation remain into force.
