to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Koufonisia
you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands of Ios,
Santorini, Kimolos, Naxos, Anafi, Amorgos etc.

In addition, there are ferry connection from Koufonisia
ferry to the islands of Crete, Rhodes, and basically all Dodecanese and East Aegean Islands via a third island.

Your trip to Koufonisia can be with a conventional ferry boat, by Highspeed or Flying dolphin depending on
the day, the time and the ferry company you wish
to travel with.

If you select to visit Koufonisia with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 7.5-9 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 5-6.5 hours depending on how

KOUFONISIA > OVERVIEW

The Koufonisia are made up of the islands of Kato and Pano Koufonisi as well as the uninhabited island of Keros in the cluster between the islands of Naxos and Amorgos. Keros has an area of 15 km² and has important discoveries of the Cyclades culture. Koufonisia with their aquamarine waters and sandy coasts have faithful visitors that return each year.

Koufonisi or Pano Koufonisi is the smaller and the most populated, covering an area of 3.5 km² with about 350 residents most of whom are in fishing and in recent years in tourism. Most of its beaches are sandy and accessible by road. There are boats to transport visitors to the beautiful beaches of Kato Koufonisi and the sea caves of Glaronisiou.

Kato Koufonisi is located between Koufonisi, Shoinousa and Keros and is sparsely inhabited; the isolated buildings on it are summer residences. The chapel of the Virgin Mary,, that is situated on a cape, is built upon ancient ruins.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

From today, August 13, 2020 a new decree by the Italian Minister of Health has come into force providing the following alternative measures which apply to people entering Italy after staying in, or transiting from Croatia, Malta, Greece or Spain in the last 14 days:

a. Obligation to present a certificate showing a negative result of a swab, done within the 72 hours prior to entry in Italy.

or

b. Obligation to undergo a molecular or antigen test carried out through a swab upon arrival at the Italian airport, port or border place, where possible; or carried out, within 48 hours from entering the Italian territory, at the competent Italian National Public Health clinic. In this latter case, while waiting for the examination test, people are due to wait in fiduciary isolation at their place of residence or dwelling.

All people, regardless of symptoms, entering Italy from the above mentioned countries are due to immediately inform the Prevention Department of the competent Italian National Health office about their arrival. In the event of outbreaks of symptoms of Covid 19, the obligation of immediate information to Italian Health Authority (through the relevant phone number) as well as of self-isolation remain into force.
