Karpathos and the Dodecanese in general are connected to the port of Piraeus. From Karpathos
you can also visit the nearby Dodecanese islands,
the Cycladic islands and Crete through other ports.

Your trip to Karpathos can be with a conventional
ferry boat or Highspeed depending on the day, the
time and the ferry company you wish to travel with.

If you select to visit Karpathos with the conventional ferry your trip will take about 7-10 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 5.50-8.50 hours depending on
how many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

KARPATHOS > BEACHES

Diafani

This beautiful beach is located in front of the village, Diafani, about 70km northwest of Pigadia. The sea here is light blue and transparent, and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. You can find taverns, sun beds, umbrellas and anything else you may need for an enjoyable day.

Devil’s Bay

This long sandy beach is located near the road that leads to the port, and is a favourite place for windsurfers because of the ideal weather conditions.

You can rent wind surfing equipment and enjoy the taste of adrenaline. If you do not know how to wind surf, don’t worry, there are teachers that can teach you the most important things, so you will not miss out on the chance to ride the waves.

Pigadia

This beach is located just outside the village of Pigadia, the capital of the island.

Pigadia is the most famous beach and attracts numerous visitors because of its close proximity to the town.

It is a mile-long beach with beautiful golden sand and pure waters. There are umbrellas and sun beds to rent and a few taverns if you get hungry.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

From today, August 13, 2020 a new decree by the Italian Minister of Health has come into force providing the following alternative measures which apply to people entering Italy after staying in, or transiting from Croatia, Malta, Greece or Spain in the last 14 days:

a. Obligation to present a certificate showing a negative result of a swab, done within the 72 hours prior to entry in Italy.

or

b. Obligation to undergo a molecular or antigen test carried out through a swab upon arrival at the Italian airport, port or border place, where possible; or carried out, within 48 hours from entering the Italian territory, at the competent Italian National Public Health clinic. In this latter case, while waiting for the examination test, people are due to wait in fiduciary isolation at their place of residence or dwelling.

All people, regardless of symptoms, entering Italy from the above mentioned countries are due to immediately inform the Prevention Department of the competent Italian National Health office about their arrival. In the event of outbreaks of symptoms of Covid 19, the obligation of immediate information to Italian Health Authority (through the relevant phone number) as well as of self-isolation remain into force.
