The Historical Museum of Paxoi was established by the island’s Cultural Association in 1996. It is housed in a traditional building of 1906 and exhibits findings from the prehistory to the classical period and the Balcanic Wars and 1940.
One of the most important exhibits is the ‘Resolution of the Ionian Parliament’ which officially recognised the union of the Ionian Islands to the Greek State in 1864.
Last but not least, is the book written by the Australian Archduke Ludovike Salvator, describing the island in every detail as he visited it in 1884 –1885.
