Ships and Ferries to Samos - East Aegean Islands.
Samos and the East Aegean Islands in general are connected to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Samos you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands
of Syros, Tinos, Mykonos, Andros etc.
In addition, there are ferry connection from Samos
ferry to the island of Rhodes, and basically all East Aegean and Dodecanese Islands via a third island.
Your trip to Samos can be with a conventional ferry
boat or by Highspeed depending on the day, the
time and the ferry company you wish to travel with.
If you select to visit Samos with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 7-9.30 hours while
with a Highspeed ferry 5.30-6.30 hours depending
on how many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

Samos city is built amphitheatrically at the end of the bay and is one of the few cities that managed to preserve its traditional character. It has one of the most beautiful sea fronts of the Aegean along with many neoclassic buildings witnessing the island's good old times.
Apart from the mayor’s office, the rest of the island’s authorities are stationed here. There the Prefecture and all its services, museums, many banks and the Archbishop’s office are found. For all the above it is considered to be the biggest commercial centre of eastern Samos with a purely urban population.

The port of Pythagorio, is the oldest artificial port of the Mediterranean built during Polycrates era. Amongst the picturesque narrow roads of Pythagorio we can find unique neoclassical buildings, ancient Samos’ ruins, the town hall’s square and the archaeological collection of the town.
The village is built on the Imvrasos’ river banks. Its name came from the watermills that used to be there. The village is very well kept with wide roads, whitewashed houses, and beautiful gardens while the village’s square is one of the most traditional places on the island.
