Nisyros is one of the smaller islands of the Dodecanese and is located between Kos, Tilos and Astypalea. What characterizes the island and impresses the visitor from the first moment is its imposing volcano. On the top of volcano, the caldera, are the volcanic craters with white, orange/yellow rocks creating a unique sight.
Mandraki is the capital and the harbour of the island, a traditional village with white houses and picturesque narrow alleys. Close to the village on a rock is the Castle of Knights of Agios Ioannis and inland is the church Panagia the Spiliani with its beautiful iconostasis.
The island has some amazing beaches: Mandraki, the Hohlaki, Avlaki, Agios Irini as well as some beautiful beaches on the small islet of Gyali opposite Mandraki.
