Ships and Ferries to Mykonos - Cycladic Islands.
Mykonos and the Cyclades in general are connected
to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Mykonos
you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands of
Ios, Santorini, Paros, Naxos etc.
In addition, there are ferry connection from Mykonos
ferry to the islands of Crete, Rhodes, and basically all Dodecanese and East Aegean Islands via a third island.
Your trip to Mykonos can be with a conventional
ferry boat, by Highspeed or Flying dolphin depending
on the day, the time and the ferry company you wish
to travel with.
If you select to visit Mykonos with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 5-7.5 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 3.5-4.5 hours depending on how
many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

The Mykonos Archaeological Museum was built in 1900-2 in Kamnaki in a dominating position above the harbour initially to house the rich discoveries of the Cesspool of Purgation of the 5th BC that were discovered in Rinia in 1898 and other burials grounds on the island. The rich collection of its vessels is particularly representative of the Cycladic ceramics from the geometric period until 6th BC.
Exhibits of marvellous ceramics and other discoveries, tomb objects of Hellenic bas-reliefs, sculptures etc. Among the discoveries on Mykonos is the large Pithos of Mykonos, a pithamphoreas from a Tinos workshop of 7th BC with its richly embossed representations of the Trojan War, its central composition depicts the Ahaioi warriors with the Doureio Horse. Open daily from 08:30 to 15:00 except Monday and official holidays.
It is located in Kastro, a few metres from the eminent Paraportiani and is housed in an old two-storey ship master’s house.
It consists of six main rooms that exhibit collections of old furniture, Byzantine pictures, rural ceramics, old commemorative dishes, decorative/historical. It also has a collection of embroidery and weaving, keys, meters and weights, a beautiful collection of models of boats etc.
It has an archive collection of important manuscripts and forms, photographs, maps, as well as a library. Open from April to October, 16:30 until 20:30 except Sunday.
Located in Tria Pigadia beside the Folklore Museum, it includes rower effigies, sloops and steam boats from prehistoric to modern times. It also has a rich collection of maps and other charts, ancient currencies and weights. There are amphoras and compasses; while in the elegant garden is a collection of copies of ancient headstone sculptures with marine subjects and the turret with the mechanism from the Armenisti lighthouse,1889. To this museum belongs the traditional EVANGELISTRIA which is located in the old harbour in the summer. Open daily from April to October 10:30 until 13:00, and from 18:30 until 21:00.
One can find here a unique collection of sculpture that covers the spectrum from the Ancient to the Roman Period including marvellous mosaics, ceramics, utilitarian objects of private life, works of miniature art and jewellery etc.
Open daily from 08:30 until 15:00, except Monday and certain official holidays, provided the weather is good and does not prohibit the mooring of tourist boats in the harbour.
