Ships and Ferries to Koufonisia - Cycladic Islands.
Koufonisia and the Cyclades in general are connected
to the ports of Piraeus and Rafina. From Koufonisia
you can also visit the nearby Cycladic islands of Ios,
Santorini, Kimolos, Naxos, Anafi, Amorgos etc.
In addition, there are ferry connection from Koufonisia
ferry to the islands of Crete, Rhodes, and basically all Dodecanese and East Aegean Islands via a third island.
Your trip to Koufonisia can be with a conventional ferry boat, by Highspeed or Flying dolphin depending on
the day, the time and the ferry company you wish
to travel with.
If you select to visit Koufonisia with the conventional
ferry your trip will take about 7.5-9 hours while with
a Highspeed ferry 5-6.5 hours depending on how
many ports the ferry will call at on the way.

Platia Pounda Beach is located on Pano Koufonisia about 2km from Chora. It is one of the popular beaches as it is basically a nudist beach although if you wear clothes you would not feel like a fish out of water! There are people who are dressed, semi- dressed and not dressed at all milling about, enjoying themselves.
Fanos beach is located about 1,5 km east of Chora. It is a sandy beach ideal for sea sports and surfing. Near the beach you can find a nice tavern and the island’s camping site. For a trip to the beach, you should carry a few basics items such as drinking water and some food and, of course, your bathing gear.
Finikas is located about 1 km east of Chora. It is a family beach ideal for relaxation and swimming. Enjoy the golden sand of the beach and the cool drinks from the nearby tavern.
Megali Ammos is located about 1km from Chora. It is quite popular, being extremely clean. It is perfect for those looking for a bit of peace and quiet with only the sun, the sea and the sand for company.
From Koufonisia you can take a boat to the island of Kato, which is basically Lower Koufonisia.
All information pertinent to boat timings etc is prominently displayed at the dock from where you can embark.
Nero is the destination for all tourists who board this boat. Nero is a small but attractive beach that is situated at Kato. Be prepared for crowds and ensure that you carry all your personal requirements including water.
